English Teaching in Japan 7

In this episode I give some suggestions on how to create an environment where students feel comfortable and not afraid of making mistakes. Also some ideas on how and when to correct mistakes.

Everyone wants to be understood by others. So do everything you can to understand what your students are trying to say. Don't give up on them. When a student knows that you understand them, they will be very happy and will work even harder.

I just started listening to your podcast...Im hoping to be able to teach english in japan next year...Im goin to apply to NOVA in january and hopefully be able to work around early fall next year...will you be talking about actually living in japan such as areas to see or visit or the best for gaijins? I don't really have any japanese language background but one reason I want to go to japan is to learn japanese first hand.

Thnx
John
